SOLSURE is a medical device company developing, manufacturing and marketing intelligent sensor-enabled socks to monitor Diabetic induced neuropathy. Solsure’s neuropathic solution enables patients to monitor their foot health. Solsure’s Smart socks are fitted with micro biosensors that report temperature changes, sending a signal to the patient’s PC or smartphone via Bluetooth. Solsure-produced socks enable the healthcare practitioner and the patient to monitor the overall health of the diabetic foot. As a result, the stress of unknown fear and agony of the patient, who is always worried about diabetic-related foot ailments, is relieved. It is anticipated that draconian interventions such as amputating the toes and feet of those suffering from unmonitored diabetic neuropathy will be reduced. The fiscal impact on the health care system will be substantive. Every year about 73,000 amputations of the lower limb not related to trauma are performed on people with diabetes in the United States. Each procedure costs, on average, $70,000 US indicating a total cost to the health care system of over Five Billion annually.
